What do you give when you have nothing left to give?

Hi dear friends.  Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed a few moments celebrating Christ’s birth.

Wanted to hop on and share an impromptu post.  I shared this on social media but also wanted to share with you.

I’m always amazed by God’s faithfulness.  He knows how to best satisfy the deepest longings of my heart….

It was 2 weekends before Christmas and I felt like someone had plucked all the leaves off my giving tree. Giving out of a motive to please others or to fulfill an expectation was depleting my soul. I looked at my friend and warned her. My attitude was taking a nose-dive.

She drew a blank stare, chuckled and offered a few words of encouragement. But then she did what a true friend does, she prayed for me.

Over the next week, God revealed a family in need to both my friend and I. They did not need money per se. They needed Love. They needed Hope. They needed Him. They needed a Christmas tree.

Sometimes the most tangible expression of Christ’s love comes wrapped as a gift…or a tree.

Our families joined forces. We loaded our sleigh with a Christmas tree and a few of our favorite things.Cmas elves

Under the dark of night we delivered a tree. We delivered Hope/Love.

God answered my friend’s prayer, but in a way I least expected. He did not ask me to stop giving. He asked me to give the right things for the right reasons. He asked me to give Him.

No sooner than the tree was up, did my own giving tree start sprouting leaves all over.

God gave me the best Christmas gift this year—disguised as a tree.

Love to you all!!

  1. This is part of my story: after giving my life to Jesus October 28, 2007. I didn’t know how to be a Saved person. I didn’t know how to share Jesus! I didn’t know how much about the Bible.
However I told my wife I did know how to pray. I started praying for my journey back to Heaven . I also prayed for others and their to Christ or Heaven or both. That’s my gift when I have nothing else to give. It is also my first gift. Have a happy new beginning! Another year closer to going to Heaven. My prayers continue daily.

    1. So well said Bob. Your words/prayers challenge and encourage me. So thankful for men like you advancing God’s Kingdom. I am blessed by you!! Keep going…Godspeed!!
